Happy Thanksgiving + Thoughts on Gratitude
Grateful reflections on small business ownership
Owning a small business is one of those things that somehow feels both wildly fulfilling and wildly exhausting — often in the same day. There are times when I’m juggling a dozen details, answering emails late at night, and wondering if life would just be easier if I went back to a corporate 9–5. But then there are those quiet moments — when I see a client’s reaction to their custom gifts, or when I pause to realize how far this little idea has come and I’m reminded just how lucky I am to do this.
Gratitude hits differently as a business owner. It’s not always about being thankful for success or growth (though that’s important too). It’s about the people who’ve believed in you — the clients who keep coming back year after year, the vendors who go out of their way to meet a last-minute deadline, and the friends who show up with coffee when I’m knee-deep in ribbon and boxes.
And it’s about the freedom — the kind that comes from building something that reflects who I am. The ability to choose what projects to take on, to infuse my creativity into every detail, to create moments of joy for others through my work — that’s what I love most and what keeps me going.
As we’re in another season of gifting and gratitude, I’m feeling especially thankful — for the clients who trust me with their vision, the small business community that constantly inspires me, and the simple fact that I get to do what I love every day.
Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with gratitude for whatever brings you joy. Here’s to celebrating your blessings with a grateful heart and soaking up all the little moments that make this season special.
